§ C42-3 Eligibility threshold.

A. Participating candidates for the Office of County Legislator must raise during an election cycle a minimum of $5,000 in matchable contributions, received from no less than 30 individual donors, to meet the threshold of eligibility for matching funds. In the event a participating candidate receives a contribution that exceeds $250, but otherwise meets the criteria of a matchable contribution, only $250 of such contribution shall count towards the $5,000 eligibility threshold.

B. Participating candidates for the Office of County Executive must raise during an election cycle a minimum of $25,000 in matchable contributions received from no less than 150 individual donors, to meet the threshold of eligibility for matching funds. In the event a participating candidate receives a contribution that exceeds $250, but otherwise meets the criteria of a matchable contribution, only $250 of such contribution shall count towards the $25,000 eligibility threshold.

C. Candidates who are seeking nomination or election exclusively as write-in candidates or who are unopposed in a covered election or who are opposed in a covered election only by candidates seeking nomination or election as a write-in candidate shall not be eligible to receive public funding.
